The Story of the Journal…

Preserving Legacy - One Memory at a Time

Co-founding the Raising Alphas Project has taught me the importance of ensuring that I am passing down the best version of myself to my children. As I bring on new guests to the show each week, I learn new ways to be a wiser parent, a stronger father, and a better husband. How am I ensuring that these valuable things that I learn are being passed down to my next generation(s)?

I have grandparents that are no longer with me. There’s a lot of things that I don’t know about them, things that I wished I’d learned from them when I had them with me. For example, my dad’s father was a very quiet man when it came to sharing about his life. He served in the military as a tank operator in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, one of the most pivotal battles of the European Theatre. It was a brutal place to be, and that may have been the reason why he was a very quiet man… What if he’d had the chance to talk about his experience in the safety and solitude a guided journal offers? What incredible experiences he might have shared –memories that are now lost with him.

My dad’s father was a gifted carpenter. Those are some of the skills I wish had been passed down to my father, that could have been passed down to me, that could be passed down to my own children. Think of how much has been lost by the passage of time simply because of not sharing experiences. What do you wish you had been given by your ancestors?

This guided journal is an opportunity to pass down your legacy, to tell your life story, and to live long beyond your God-given years through these recorded memories in the lives of your descendants. I hope that it will be a gift to not just you, but all that love you and wish to know you. Thank you for reading.
